The Vineyard

Our Cinsault is sourced from a neighbouring vineyard in the Stone Well sub-region, just metres from our own property. The site features red-brown earth and buckshot ironstone soils. These soils contribute to the wine’s distinctive chalky tannin structure that underlies vibrant red fruit and spice characters.

We believe Cinsault has a bright future in the Barossa Valley. The variety shows natural drought tolerance and produces larger berries that deliver an opulent fruit profile. Its later ripening period extends beyond the hottest months of January and February. This allows the fruit to develop complexity while retaining natural freshness and balance.

The VintageĀ

The 2025 vintage was one of the earliest in Barossa memory, with many growers finishing harvest before the end of March. Following a dry winter, drought conditions prevailed throughout the growing season, while warmer August temperatures led to budburst occurring 2-3 weeks earlier than normal.

The early ripening period allowed for intense flavours while maintaining the natural freshness and balance that defines modern Barossa winemaking.

The Winemaking

Hand-picked on February 26th and March 10th, this vibrant wine is fermented with 100% whole bunches and gently foot-stomped to encourage natural fermentation. Extended post-fermentation maceration of 17 days on skins builds flavor complexity and fine-grained texture, before gentle basket pressing. Aged for 6 months in 500-litre seasoned French oak barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered on October 27th for maximum freshness and vibrancy.
